USANA Farm Festival

This was the year of wine and farm festivals!

Here’s a little snippet from USANA’s Facebook page about the festival to make sure you don’t miss the next one!

“The fourth Usana Farm Festival (The Farm Table) was held on the Winshaw Family Farm, Klein Welmoed recently. People flocked from far and wide to come and spend a day out on the farm.

This time we were joined by the very talented Johnny Hamman and Maruis Uys from Slippery Spoon Kitchen – Creative Food for Creative Events who prepared all the food for the authentic Farm Table. The food was made from the pasture reared farm meat and eggs and was presented on one long feast table, for guests to help themselves.

Janie Bay and the Beard created a fantastic atmosphere with beautiful music and kids enjoyed the farm experience, hunting eggs from the chickens and admiring the cows.”

Seasons of Sauvignon

It’s that time again – time for drinking white wine in the sun!

We designed the new poster for Klein Roosboom for the Season of Sauvignon festival taking place in October. Make sure you book a tble well in advance – wine, laughter, sun and a view over Table Mountain in the distance. What more do you need this Summer?

For the Woordfees here in Stellenbosch I designed a selection of printed banners for Johnny Hamman to be used at the Kokkedoor and Koekedoor stalls. It was a selection of 8 hanging banners, 2 pull up banners and a 4 panel media wall that was then re-used at the KKNK in Oudtshoorn.

Not Ham But Man

One of the biggest projects to date was to design and build Johnny Hamman’s website in 2014. Love Your Brand teamed up with the Dev team of LIMBIK and we created this responsive, e-commerce WordPress website. We are waiting in anticipation for Johnny’s online range to launch so that the website can be used in its full capacity.

We also create Not Ham But Man’s quarterly e-newsletters and manage his MailChimp account.

This was a lovely project to work on as we had the chance to re-create the owner’s brand identity and website. Goeters specialises in the up most imaginative creations of beautiful décor and lights for weddings and events, so that meant that we were going to work with beautiful things and especially beautiful photography!

For the WordPress website we have chosen a layout that could easily portray their big range of products as well as a blog where they can document all the events.

The logo had to be modern, yet stylish.
Quite an out of the ordinary end result, but we love it! And so does the client.

University of Stellenbosch

We had the privilege to create a brand new identity for The Laboratory for the Economics of Africa’s Past (LEAP) – affiliated to the Department of Economics at Stellenbosch University, South Africa.

It is dedicated to the quantitative study of African economic history and brings together scholars and students interested in understanding and explaining the long-term economic development of Africa’s diverse societies.

The end result of the logo was a colourful and strong layout portraying the diversity of South Africa, and its past. The letter ‘L’ is an ancient map of the Cape Colony; the ‘E’ consists out of Egyptian hieroglyphs; the ‘A’ consists out of Stata Code (a statistical software package used by researchers); and the ‘P’ is colourful African patterns.

The website is a one page responsive WordPress information site, with the ability to add multiple projects as the papers are being written over the years.

For the launch-night of the website, we’ve also designed a big pull up banner to spread the word about LEAP.

Discover Zanzibar

The past year I was privileged enough to design a wide range of print related work for the talented chef and travel agent Marius Uys from Slippery Spoon Kitchen and Discover Spectrum.

Work included flyers, a magazine advertisement & travel itinerary, online banners, back walls to be used at expo’s and various promotional items like key rings and wine labels.

NB Uitgewers

Proud to announce that Johnny‘s first cookbook is on the shelves after a year of drooling all over my keyboard, working with the most delicious and mind blowing recipes and stunning photography! What a privilege to work with such a creative and talented person, well done Johnny Hamman!

Bon appetit peeps!

The owner of this local rusk bakery started baking rusks for family and friends at the end of 2014. Her products became so popular that she shifted the Tupperware containers for proper rusks packaging and we created a brand for her.

We discussed her idea behind baking and brainstormed names. We decided on Hapgebak. It’s a quirky fusion of two Afrikaans words: hap (bite) and gebak (baked or baked goods).

First on the list was the branding. A logo and some labels to differentiate between products.  The social media followed. We created a Facebook page and made sure we update the content regularly. People love photos of delicious things, especially if you can eat them. So within 6 months she almost has a 100 natural followers and her products are being sold at two major outlets in Paarl and Brackenfell. It’s still growing.

We’re in the process of creating an online platform where people will be able to view her products online and order them directly from there.

That is what I was talking about loving your brand so that people can fall in love with it as well. Go on, order some buttery rusks right now!
